    Forms

    Just opend access for the first time.
    Imported resident schedule with too much info. I would like to create a form easy on the eyes to select specific criteria to show there scheduel.


    I imported the excel sheet but I am not able to constuct a form useing the data.
    Need a tutorial site to guide me. All youtubs have been unsuccessfull. For example . Can create a list but can not create other field that represent several cells once a list item is selected. Hope i was not too wordy

    Suggest you find a cheap used tutorial book and spend a solid week with it.

    You might start with looking at Crystal Long's web site. See has put together some e-books and videos.
    Start with Access Basics ,
    then see Video Tutorials

    If this really is you first time with Access, it is imperative that you understand Normalization Terms and Concepts. This deals with the concepts on HOW to design database tables.

    After spending time with all that reading, go to Roger Carlson's site and do the tutorials.


    One thing to remember, Excel IS NOT Access. They are two completely animals. (different object models)
    If you can forget everything you know about Excel, it will help you learn Access faster/easier.
    For example, Access DOES NOT have "Cells", Even though an Access Table/Datasheet looks like a spreadsheet, they are not.
