AFAIK, the only way to hide the ribbon in later Access versions is to either replace it with a blank one that you create, or on startup, run this command
DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarNo
One way to do that is to have an AutoExec macro that calls a public function in a standard module. I use a function named Startup() and put it in a module named mdlStartup where additional startup procedures might be located.
