Lost access to Access, now tells me I do not have permission to open objects

I purchased a new(er) computer. In the process of transitioning I copied all of my files over to external drives. In the process of transitioning between the two computers I would open the several databases I had created on the old computer with both computers (not at the same time) I installed my copy of Access 2003 on the new computer and was opening and editing my mdb files (now on external drives) Then one day, I get this message from Access that says something about security. I had never had any issue with security so I pretty much just tabbed my way through the message not thinking anything about it. However, apparently I should have paid more attention to what it was saying because shortly after that (not immediately but pretty soon) I open one of my mdb files, it tells me I don't have permission to open a specific form. The db displays all of the objects I have created in the db but will not let me open, view or modify any of them telling me I don't have permission.
What happened and how do I fix this?
    Thanks
    Dave

If by external drives you mean usb or disc, it is possible that the files ended up being read only - especially if from disc. If that's not it and Trusted Locations is not it (a common oversight when a new drive comes into the picture) then it's anyone's guess.

Too bad you didn't pay attention to a message that you were probably not used to seeing. If you got it every time, I get why you might blow through messages that you might take for granted as being the same ones. However, if it was a new thing, I don't get it and never have. Used to drive me nuts when a user would say 'it's not working - there was an error message' and I'd ask what did it say? I dunno, I didn't read it. Really??

You have backups you can fall back to? What about the ones on the temp drive? Surely you copied them back and didn't cut/paste or otherwise delete?
