unable to access to the database as OK and Cancel buttons do not respond

    Hi,

I've got an Access database that will prompt you for username and password when it's launched from the network drive.

This access authentication form is created to verify the users before they can be granted access to the database.

It's been working all along until recently I bought a new laptop.

Installed the Office 365 Home subscription

When launching the app, the access authentication form pops up for credential. After entering username and password and click OK button, it's meant to either say "username/password is incorrect" or log you in. But that is not the case, nothing happens when clicking on the "OK" or "cancel" button.

I have gone to File > options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings to check the Macro Settings. The macro settings is enabled. I am not sure where else to check.

I have also run online repair but it didn't seem to help at all.

Most of the menu on the top ribbon are hidden away. Very limited menu options are made available for example, only File and Home menu are displayed. Usually, to bypass this security, I need to hold onto the Shift button while double clicking on the database. This hasn't worked for me.

just wondering if anyone could kindly share their thoughts on this.

    Thank you in advance

if you can get into the db, get into VBE (alt-F11) , then look at Tools, References,
do any say MISSING that are checkmarked?

You checked the settings, but is the db no longer located in a Trusted Location? You may have lost some of those locations after a hardware change.
