Thanks Bob. Then next problem, I don't know how to zip a file! Any tips? Otherwise I could email it to you.

    Close th db.
Right click the file in windows explorer
Select "Send To" from the list
    Select "Compressed (zipped) Folder"
If this helped, please click the star at the bottom left of this posting and add to my reputation . Many thanks.

I'll wait for the database before any detailed comments. But here are a few general things:

-did you work through the tutorial I suggested in post #8
-the list of "things" I gleaned from your post were things I saw as potential tables
-you really can't comment on the design of tables and relationships until you know the business rules

    -business rules determine relationships

Thanks Orange. I did read through it, but it wouldn't hurt to have a more thorough read. I'll check again now.

Generally I feel confident with what I want from the data, but maybe I'm missing the point.

    Hi Neil

I've created some forms, similar to those that i used in the attached db in post #2

Hopefully, this will get you started.

    BTW

Once you have all your musicians in the MusiciansDetail table, I would edit the relationship with the T_InstrumentsPlayers table to enforce referential integraty.

Thanks very much Bob. I just had a look, and it works really well. What's the easiest way now for me to incorporate it to the original database? Should I try to recreate your forms, or should I replace the tables with mine? Thanks again.

You should be able to just open your original db and import the three forms that i created in the last one posted

I managed to export the forms, and its working well, thanks! I took on board for suggestion about about the referential integrity.

I'm sure I'll have more questions soon!
