    Why is my Query incomplete?

I have a database of people and I created a query to list employers. Not all of the people are appearing in the database and I have no idea why that is. I just started using Access in February and am self taught to this point. Any help is appreciated

If I had to guess (and I do since you didn't show the query ), you've joined more than one table together and one of them doesn't have all employers in it. Right or double click on the join line to edit the join. The correct choice should be obvious at that point.

Ah, you are correct. The employer was not in the Employers query. So much to learn in ACCESS. Thank you so much. How do I show the query for future questions?

No problem. Easiest way is probably to switch to SQL view and copy/paste the SQL here.

Welcome to the site by the way!

New question. I attempted to create a form. Looks good however I do not have the option to add a record. What would cause this?

The query may be read only:

You might describe your data structure; you may have made a design mistake, or there's a better way to set up the form (like with a subform).

What I'm trying to accomplish is to enter monthly hours worked in my form and then create a report that lists each month with hours and a total using the information from the records in the form

I meant the table structure. if I had to guess, you may want a form bound to the employee table and a subform bound to the "hours" table. Can you attach the db here?

Unfortunately the db has full socials in it so I can't upload. Can I create the two things from scratch that you mentioned my form might need? There is no table, form or query in the db that has the hours in it which is part of my issue. We are manually adding these and typing them in when we need them and that to me increases possibility of errors on hours. I definitely feel that perhaps an Access class might help me out here. There is no one here that knows how to use the database that was created by a gal that retired 2 years ago and her replacement was also not very Access savvy. I came in with no training. I'm learning but still a long way to go to fully understand the processes.

Where are you storing the hours from your form then? If you can't attach a sanitized sample, how about the relationship window, or a description of the table(s) involved and how they relate to each other.

Thank you for all of your attempts at helping me. I started fresh this morning and did a more thorough search of the reports, forms and queries in our database and found that there were items that had not been updated in a while that I could update to get the information I needed going forward without recreating the wheel so to speak. Someday I hope to be able to create things I need but I am thankful I figured out how to get the results I was looking for.

    Thank you again!
