Compact and Repair Access 2016 Database

    Hello,

I have an Access 2016 Database which has 14 tables, 19 queries and 47 forms size 975,488 KB.

I wanted to email a copy of the database with no data so I made a copy and deleted all data from the 14 tables, then ran compact and repair.
The database size is now 966,392 KB. Does this sound right?
    Thank you for any advice.

No, it doesn't. Suggest create a new db and import all the objects - but make sure you click on the options button and select Definition Only under Import Tables before clicking OK.

From your description you have not split the database. Splitting is standard practice for anything more than a temporary application. Consequently it is possible your db has become corrupted in some way which is why the size barely changes.

something else to try if you have a lot of code that you have changed a lot is to decompile - see this link http://www.fmsinc.com/microsoftacces.../decompile.asp
