Given a stock market symbol, how do I retrieve current price data from the web?

I did a google search before posting here but I could not find a solution.

Is this even do-able? From what website (eg. finance.yahoo.com?) and how does one enter the price data of the stock (eg. ibm) in an Access 2013 field? Thank you.

Do it in Excel (https://www.engadget.com/2019/06/05/...k-data-nasdaq/) then link the Excel file in Access.

    Cheers,
@Gicu, thank you. I went to the link. Not much info there, and the link mentions Office 365 only. Will it work with Excel 2013?

I hope so. I've been upgrading since Lotus 123 and dBase days and I'm simply done with upgrades (except for the OS).

For Excel 2013 try this (I have a Google sheet with live stock prices and it works great):
    https://www.vertex42.com/ExcelTempla...ck-quotes.html
or you can try to link the Google sheet directly into Access:

I put a sample in the sample database section a few years back BUT, as it states in the thread, yahoo has changed its set up since then.

Just tried and the solution in this link does work OK, a bit too many steps but I do have an Access file with stock data provided by Google finance via Google spreadsheets + Excel (linked in Access):

    Cheers,
@Gicu, thank you. I scanned the articles(s). Nowhere does it mention the Excel version. Would you know if it works in Excel 2013?

I finally got this to work in Excel 2010 although it took some persistence because of script errors when I tried to enter the web link. I found no way to force Excel to use Chrome (default app) or EDGE. Thanks!

Alan's link does at least do away with the Google docs portion, but I assume that the excel spreadsheet needs to remain open so that Access can get the values. I'll give it a try - thanks.

Difficult to believe that it can't be done directly in Access...
