Access XP - trap 'The text is too long to be edited'

Is there any way to trap the 'The text is too long to be edited' error message in Access XP (2002/SP3)

I have tried to use the following but no DataErr number is shown when I paste data.

Private Sub Form_Error(DataErr As Integer, Response As Integer)
    Msgbox DataErr
    End Sub

    Thank you.

is that a windows error instead of a form error? I'm guessing so, so but I don't know for sure.

where are you pasting from? are you pasting it into a textbox? if so, and the box is text, how about switching it to memo? that type can hold something like 10,000 characters.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my query

In answer to your question I think it is a Microsoft Access error, but to be frank I'm not sure, the link below led me to believe it was a form error which could be trapped

I am attempting to paste a test string of ten characters 'ABCDEFGHIJ' from notepad into a field which can store a maximum of five characters.
