Can't Identify User Logged into Backend when using AutoUpdater

    Experts:

I have a split database on my organization's network. At this time, I'd like to add a method so that I can view which users are logged into my database (backend).

I have come across various methods that allow to view who's logged into the database. Attached zipped file provides an example. The included forms opens fine and display my computer name when the stand-alone DB resides on my

    desktop. Great thus far!

Next, copied the same form into my frontend (on server)... same process, once I open the form, it shows my my own name. Again, great so far!

Now, here's the twist (monkey wrench) and this is where I need some assistance. As part of my process, I am using the "AutoUpdater" process (see URL http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/Eas...r-t304808.html for addititional details).

Now, while the AutoUpdated process work perfectly fine, the form "F103_N1S_ViewSystemUsers" does NOT work any longer. Please see screenshots and bulleted information in the attached Word doc (PDF too large).

My question: Why does the "F103_N1S_ViewSystemUsers" not work on the **client frontend** (with linked tables to the server)?
Ultimately, all users have their own **client frontend** and I do NOT want to change the process how database version are being shared. At the same time, I'd love to be able to identify which users are tapped into the backend on the server. Any thoughts/recommendations?

What is your BE db, Access or SQL? In your process are you just getting the PC name to say who is logged in? Or does the user actually have to log in with an ID and Password?

    Bulzie:

BE is in Access. I'm ok just getting the computer name. I have a form-driven login & password (not Access password).

So you can see who is opening your FE, you also want to see who is opening the BE database? you said "identify which users are tapped into the backend on the server. " Some folks might go to that network folder and open the BE directly?

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
