Unable to enter data - security issue?

I have a DB on a shared server. When my collegue opens the database a couple of things happened.

    1. The macro that allow the form to pop up automatically gives an error. I went in an deleted the macro (at her computer) and the form can be opened.
    2. The form will not allow any data to be entered. It is like a read only.

I have checked all of the securities that I know of and there doesn't seem to be a problem.

Any ideas of where I can look for security locks or what might be causing this?

does another user have it open with record locks turned on? Doesn't Access usually give a dialog though, if you have to open it read-only due to this overlap?

It doesn't seem to be a read only situation. As you said it should give a notice.
