    Question help


    hi there i need to search at field in table that field content a value like this ( 1,50,,30,,,,40) so i want to find the number which is after like comma number 4
    so any idea to this i want to make a function that can find that value i want

    This is CSV string in text field? There will always be 7 commas? This is really bad data schema.

    I expect this will require VBA custom function using array object.

    your requirement is not very clear - I presume this field is not a multi value field which can present like you describe?

    you've shown a brief example of the data but only described the result required - which in this example it would appear to be you want '0'.

    what about if you are looking for values after '1' - in your example presumably you would not want anything returned?
    and what if the string contains 41,42,43 - what value do you want returned?

    Or do you mean you are looking for records that contain numbers starting with 4?
