    Exporting a query to HTML

    Folks

    Another quick one, I hope.

When I export a query to HTML, the output is a table of data – which is all perfectly in order – with the file name at the top. Is there any way to export the data so that the field names are given in the top row of the table and (ideally) the file name is omitted?

this is a lot of code, but you might want to check it out if you're astute at reading HTML tags: http://allenbrowne.com/AppOutputHtmlCode.html

Alas, I don't understand. I've clicked on the link to this page, but I can't work out what I have to do. Could you put it in extra-simple terms for me please?

i would enjoy trying to work this out, but I don't really have the time to check it out right now. I might be able to check it out this weekend for you. I'm not even sure what his function does - i've never used it. I'll let you know what I find out. if you want to upload a file too, I can try and see if it's possible to get what you want.

but I won't be posting an answer for a few days at least.

I just tried it and it exports it with headings perfectly. wow! a few bugs I had to delete though to get through it.

I'll check this out over the weekend and tell you how to work it (time permitting of course). it'll be fun!

By the way, I've discovered a way of achieving a result that will do if all else fails. You export to XML, ticking all three boxes (XML, XSL and XSD?) when prompted, and then select "View Source" in the resulting HTML file and save the source code as a separate HTML file. The down side is that I'd have to format each new HTML file manually (wouldn't I?).
