Hi
I'm not a developer, just a user, and am self employed so have no IT department to help, so I hope you folks can point me in the right direction.
I have some access databases that are made up of a number of linked and unlinked tables and a number of queries that pull data from the various tables (Access 2010). I have been asked to provide the data for archiving in a FAIR format (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FAIR_data), using either .csv or .xml. Are there advantages or disadvantages to either? Do I need to go into each table and query and save it individually? In which case how do they all link back together again afterwards so that someone can open them? Or is there a way that I can save the whole thing in one go?
Typically my data has about 15 linked tables and about 5 queries. Most of the tables have 20-30 lines and 5-10 columns but I have one table (not surprisingly I call it 'maintable')which draws from the rest and then feeds into a couple of queries, that has about 50 columns and up to several thousand lines.
Thanks
Fiona
