    Is this in a query?
    Set the link field as rich text.
    Then add this expression for the Link field
    Code:
    "File://" & [LinkText]
    Colin, Access MVP, Website, email

    More than one way to accomplish. Expression in textbox with textbox IsHyperlink property set to Yes:

    ="#" & [LinkText] & "#"

    Can even show alternate display text.

    =[LastName] & "#" & [LinkText] & "#"

    Not with HyperlinkAddress AND SubAddress properties of button, calculation in textbox ControlSource property.
