CSV file to big to link?

    Hi

I am using a database that needs to link a file that is 2GB+ I was previously on win7 32bit MS Access 2013 and had no problems with it linking and sourcing the data I need.
Now that I have migrated over to win10 64bit MS Access 365 I keep getting the following error
"File C\Users\Dave\Desktop\Smith\Mar.csv does not contain data or the file is to large.
    How do I fix this

    Thanks

Was it always 2GB? That would be odd, because AFAIK, the db limit has been 2Gb for a long time, and that includes everything - including overhead.
A version of sql server would be the answer as to how to "fix" it I would say.

As Micron has said, the Access file size limit has been 2GB for almost 20 years. Previously it was 1GB
However as you are linking the CSV file, that shouldn't increase the Access file size.

You may be hitting the 1GB recordset limit or your CSV file may be corrupt.
Try saving the CSV file as an XLSX file then linking that instead.

Another possible issue is that you may be hitting issues with MaxFileLocks or MaxBufferSize or available connections though I would expect other error messages
What is the error number with that message?

    Hi.

The file has always been greater than 2GB. normally sits between 2.2GB and 2.8GB and it works with no issues on WIN7. We are just been forced to go to WIN10 as no more support for WIN7

The error doesn't provide me any error number. just the error itself

File 'C:\Users\Dave\Desktop\NTT_ALL.csv' does not contain data, or the file is too large.

I will try and save it as a XLSX and see how it goes with that and come back to you

    Thanks

    Hi

No luck with converting to XLSX as the file is over the 1,000,000 lines

Looks like I have to down the path of SQL Server.
