Question Error opening database file: In-correct Date Format!

When opening a particular database file, which I did not create. I get the following error message:

    In-Correct Date Format
Date Format Not Correct, Date format must be set to yyyy-MM-dd.

I have googled, and searched forums but found no reference to this error. I have opened the file successfully on a different PC. I have tried local administrator access, as well as our secured ID format.

I have tried 'shift'-open to no effect. I've tried to open it in a decompiled format (msaccess.exe /decompile), and I've tried to import all of the objects into a new database, but I don't have the 'decompiled' version of the database, just this copy, so I can't import anything other than tables and queries.

    Any thoughts?

    1) it looks like a custom error message. Possibly why research turned up nothing.
    2) shift bypass might be disabled. If you research it, you can find a way to allow it. I would do it for you if you post a db copy but I'm not going to publicize how as it's one of those things that shouldn't be known by everyone. Sounds odd no doubt, given that you can find code for this, but for me it's like a hacker thing.

You didn't say if the problem pc's have a different date format setting than the one that it opens on. If the db is checking date format in regional settings and throwing up a roadblock that's an odd approach but I guess it was easier than other methods.

From your description, you are trying to modify a compiled ACCDE or MDE file in which the code in forms, reports and modules is inaccessible.
That process cannot be reversed other than by using a specialist recovery service...at a price....and you would need to prove ownership of the original file
Unfortunately, despite its name, decompiling does not return the file to ACCDB format. Its purpose is to remove corrupt compiled code in a ACCDB/MDB file.

Sorry to say that you may be out of luck unless you can get hold of the original ACCDB file.
Whilst I could also possibly suggest some methods of making progress with this, I'm not going to do so for the same reasons as Micron.
