unwanted field changes

I have a dropdown listed with facilities, I'm going to a specific facility with a button. The issue I'm having is when I select a specific facility a record is being changed within my table. The same record is being changed every time. Its replacing the facility name with the facility ID.

Note quite clear what you actually have - it sounds like your dropdown is bound to your facilities field - see the controlsource - and being used to filter. If so remove it - a combo used to provide a value for a filter or criteria should always be unbound.

Or you mean that you have not hidden the ID column - see column widths, set the first column to 0

Or you are using dropdowns in your table design - which just confuses the issue - stores a number (ID) but displays text. Best to remove dropdowns and all formatting from tables so you can clearly see what you actually have

Sounds like the dropdown is bound (has a control source). For searching it shouldn't be.

That fixed it, I had the combo box bound. I appreciate it.
