Access can not find a record, but says creating it would create a duplicate value

    Hello,

I have an access database that is split among users. I was searching for a record using the primary key (06592) in a form and access says the record can not be found. I went to the table and looked and also in the table in the back end and it would not find the record. I then tried to re-add this record because I thought it was deleted and when I enter the primary key 06592 access says it would create duplicate values in the primary key. So please help! I don't know why it is not showing up anywhere.

    Thanks in advance!

i think this happend to me once,
    did you compact/repair the backend?

also, sometimes there are other index fields, make sure those arent repeated too.

From your description it sounds like that record is corrupted. So its 'there but not there'
It may be a good idea to copy all records into a new table then repeat the process.

However why do you have the same data in both frontend and backend?
Duplicating data is against basic database principles.
