    Organize my database

    Hello,

First time using access and I really don't know how to use it.

This is what I need: I have let's say 50 workshops.

Each workshop have multiple fields as Technical specs, Description, Objectives, Constraints...

Many fields have multiple "sub-fields" like the Objectives field: objective 1, objective 2, objective 3...

How do I create this kind of database ?

What I wish after the database creation is for example to search for example all the workshops that require a specific constraint and so on...

I do hope I've made myself clear.

Thank you very much for any kind of help.

See this link. Look for "tutorials from RogersAccessLibrary." For practical experience/learning, spend 45-60 minutes and work through at least one or two of them.

Use the same process with your own database to get the tables and relationships set up. Use pencil and paper and draw (design) your tables. Getting the tables set up and normalized is the critical part.
"Old Programmer's Rule" is this: If you can't do it on paper then you can't do it in Access. Until you can draw out your tables AND rules for how they change for each function you want to perform, you are going nowhere fast.

When you think you have the tables designed, post back here to have the forum review the design BEFORE jumping onto the computer. This will save you from banging your head against the wall....
