    Unrecognizable database error

I have an Access 2016 database running on Windows 10 clients. It is split into a front end, queries, forms, and reports, and a back end, tables. Each user has their own copy of the front end and the back end resides on a file server. I am getting an unrecognizable database error frequently. I have to open the back end let it repair itself and then import into a new Access back end and replace the old one with the new one. Any help is greatly appreciated.

not really enough to go on -where is the error? opening the FE or the implied BE? although executing 2016 what are the FE & BE? accdb? mdb? Is your BE approaching the 2Gb limit? Do one or more of your users connect wirelessly? If so, this could be the reason.

Do you make use of make table queries/temporary tables?

It is also possible your BE has become corrupted and the compact/repair may reduce the problem, but leaves the corruption 'seed' in place to grow again.

The error is on the BE. Both are aacdb. The BE is 26MB in size. Yes three connect wirelessly.

Tried compact/repair already and no change

    Yes three connect wirelessly.
this will be your problem. Access needs a hardwired connection - a small loss of connection can cause corruption.

To get round the problem, investigate using the begintrans/commitrans methodology, or better use sql server/express as a backend which is more robust in a wireless environment. Or just ensure you don't have users connecting wirelessly.
