Report -- vertical headers are not properly aligned

    Experts:

I have a question about report formatting. Please see attached JPG and sample database.

    Scenario:
    - In the report, the fields for [Required], [Authorized], and [Onboard] are set to "right-align". In this case, the individual values are binary (0, 1).
    - Given that I will have ~30 of these binary fields, I set the field width to 0.2.

    - Also, based on the ~30 fields, I rotated the field headers and set display to "vertical".

    Problem to solve:
    - While the field size is 0.2 for all (headers, fields, and subtotals), it appears the header is slightly off to the left.
    - Given the vertical rotation, the "right" alignment moves the header values to the bottom.
    - I tried to modify properties values to add either "top padding" or "bottom padding" to move the headers slightly to the right. See right lines in the JPG.

My question: Although this may seem trivial, how can I change the display of the headers slightly to the right? I DO NOT WANT TO MANUALLY MOVE THE FIELD HEADERS TO THE RIGHT! Again, I simply want to maybe add some bottom padding which may result in left padding to push, "Required", "Authorized" and "Onboard" slightly to the right so they align with the temporary red vertical lines illustrated in the JPG. Is that doable? If so, how?

    Thank you,
    EEH

Instead of padding, try adjusting the margins...

    davegri:

Excellent idea... instead of fixing the headers, I increased the right margins of the fields. Looks much better now. Thank you!

    Cheers,

Glad you're happy with that solution.
However if you have around 30 similar fields, it suggests an issue with a non-normalised table structure.

isladogs - I know you are you not suggesting a *database* shouldn't have more than 30 fields. In this case, the reports pulls those 30 fields from multiple tables.

Maybe so, but having multiple boolean fields in a table or tables is usually an indicator that the tables aren't normalised.
Perhaps you can show us your table/query design
