If so, how, if you please?
I've hunted round and cannot find anything that addresses this idea.
As always, thanks for your help.

The source data has to be modified. If the RowSource is a table or query then data in table must be changed and the listbox requeried.
Why do you ask? What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

The user needs to create an investment portfolio, which requires a list of securities and a percentage of the portfolio held in each security.
The securities can be selected from another list box, but then the user has to input the percentage for each security. I thought that if it were possible to change a single row in a list box, I could put the selected securities in a (new) 2-column list box and have the user edit the percentages in the second column.
Because I don't know how many securities the user will select, I thought that a 2-column list box would be the best approach. However, if you have another approach that's better, I'm all ears.
Thanks!
User cannot edit combobox or listbox items directly. Shouldn't selection of securities be saved as records to a table and user enters percentage into each record? This is data entry.
