Problem using access with NAS drive

Hi there... I'm not an experienced access user. I have set up my backend database on my NAS drive and the front end on our 2 laptops.... Was working reasonable will but now is extremely slow to point of being unusable..... Database is only 9mb so not large.... Has anyone else experience of issues using a NAS drive for the backend database.....I can access the NAS drive for all my other files as normal using WiFi or cloud access.... Thanks

if it's slowing down and there are no other factors in play such as increase in network usage, that implies inefficiencies in your db design. Are your tables properly indexed? are your forms designed to minimise network traffic etc. These will have a growing impact as your data grows.

If your users are connecting via Wifi then your app is at risk of corruption - so a slowdown might just be an indication of early stages of corruption and would recommend you migrate the BE to sql server express

Hi there... Not sure why it's marked solved [emoji2955] think I'll try the SQL suggestion when I have time to reach myself how to convert my access database to SQL!.... Sounds like the proper solution.... Perhaps sharing the backend database using a NAS box is not the best way to go?... Thanks for response!
