    Event Database Initial Set-up

I operate an event business that hosts an annual industry conference. The conference has two classes of participants: Exhibitors and Attendees. We offer a 4 levels of Exhibitor participation: (Exhibitor, Vendor, Sponsor and Marquee Sponsor). Both participants (Exhibitors & Attendee) pay an fee to attend the conference and can bring multiple people per business.

I would like to accomplish the following: track all attendees by name, business name, class of participant for each year and all payment information. I was thinking about the following table structure:
    • All levels of participation
    • Business Names
    • Attendee Names
    • Price for all levels of participation
    • Last table to compile all attendees with the associated year

Does anyone have a different approach or know of a template that could be modified for my needs?

    I sincerely appreciate any suggestions.

You may get some ideas from the data models at Barry Williams' site.

I have a link to several Database Planning and Design articles in various formats in my signature.

Start with a description of your business, the facts the processes, the outputs required etc. See the RogersAccessLibrary tutorials mentioned in the Database Planning and Design link.

    Good luck.
