    text box in report

Is it possible to add a field on a report that you can write in after the report is run? Just a place for notes.

Not really --at least not in the same instance of the report.
Consider, a form with a series of questions or facts as part of a preamble to the report.
One question/fact may be along the lines of:
    - what comment or note would you like to record for this session ( or similar concept),
    - record the comment or note with some Date/author/session id etc
    - then assemble/populate a textbox on the report with this data, then
    - click a button or select from a list/combo, the report to be printed.

You may get some ideas from Martin Green's Dynamic Reports.
    Good luck.

If the report is in report view you can add text to an unbound control but that means the text can't be saved.
You can't edit a bound textbox

Do remember that whilst limited interaction such as button clicks or hyperlinks work in report view, the primary function of a report is for display or printing only.
Use a form for this purpose instead.

I presume you mean type in? Or do you literally mean write in manually onto a printed report?

Assuming the former, in report view, controls do have events enabled.

Not tried it, but my approach would be to bind the notes control to a notes table field and in the onclick or doubleclick event you could have it open an inputbox or bespoke modal form for users to enter a note. When the inputbox is closed, code could be run to update the notes table and refresh the report.
