Input Mask for 9-Digit Zip Code

Hi. I am teaching myself Microsoft Access 2016. I am interested in creating a zip code field which includes the first 5 digits of the zip code, hyphen, and required 4 digit code after the hyphen. I have placed 00000\-0000;0;_ into the Input Mask property box but when I tested a record, Access did not require the 4 digit code. Is there a way to get Access to require this 4 digit code?

It works for me. Cannot leave textbox until I enter all 9 digits.

It won't do anything with already existing records unless you edit that field's data.

I tested it by creating a new record and it worked. I will have to edit the previous fields.
