So I have it working, meaning that I can get the concat' running and I have to say it is magnificent. Thank you so much ...

    Obvs now some questions..

Wasn't sure about the Mid(..., 3) thing. You are moving the string build along after adding some readability spaces, but not sure why we need that.

Final icing .. is there a way to also count up the number of fields we are concatenating? Lazy user would then have the list of names and the number of them?

I've said it before but not enough. This is truly superb - can't thank you enough. I did check the YouTube link you send and am working through those now. Is that you?

OK so I have hit a slight snag and I am not sure the best way to handle it. I want to able to update a record and have the concatenated string update sort of there and then.
So I created a new record source for the form, to pull back the main table and joined it to the query with the concat.
Bu now of course the form recordset it not updateable.

What is the best way to handle this?

Hi, no, I'm not the guy in the video .

Please review the attached updated file for how to use it in a form (I also added the counter at the end of the string).

    Cheers,

    @Raddle,
Posting your question in someone else's thread is called "Hijacking a thread" (urban dictionary : Thread Hijacking)
This is rude, and bad internet etiquette. Plus, fewer people will see your question.
You should start a new thread of your own and reference the other thread(s) that are close to your question.

In this case, the OP is TerraEarth, who started this thread on 07-23-2019, 03:18 PM.

    Something to be aware of........

However, Gicu I am getting an error when I use the string maker function -- ambiguous name. Might you have a steer on that?

I changed my table name to Table1 and tried and and it gives the same error. Hmm

.... holy mackerel ... I needed to remove your old Module first ... wow. Learning, always learning.

Looking really good now. Thanks so much again.

    -------------------------------

So I also broke out the count and am using that in a separate text box now ... I mean it is just EXACTLY what I was after. Well worth breaking Internet Law for ... (too soon...? too soon =;-) )

Gicu - just wanted to offer another thank you for your outstanding solution.

Have been able to modify fnConcat* to select TRUE (for yes/no fields) thereby allowing me to concatenate more field names in a different record set.

It literally is the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you so so much.
