Im currently working on a small database


i have a cell that look up for 4 different data MONTHLY, QUARTERLY, SEMI ANNUAL and ANNUAL
if the mode of payment is Monthly i want access to multiply my inputed Client Premium to 12 and display it to (AGENTS APE Cell)

IIf([Mode of Payment]="Monthly",([Client Premium]*12),0)

no problem after saving but the Agents APE Cell is still "0"

Terminology is important - excel has cells, ranges and tables, access has fields, tables, queries, forms, reports and controls

your reference to cell implies you have an excel background and are referring to a calculated field in a table. You also say 'have a cell that look up for 4 different data', so leaves us in some confusion about what you actually have. Are you using lookups in a table?

As a rule calculated fields (and lookups) in tables are a bad idea as they impact performance, cause confusion further down the line and can lead to making what would be a small change into a much larger one as your application expands.

so my best guess would be what you need is

[Client Premium]*choose([Mode of Payment]="Monthly",12,[Mode of Payment]="Quarterly",4,...etc.)
