Criteria for not wanting records containing a particular digit in the 5th position in a 6digit field

    Hi,

Looking for criteria to be used in query design view- will be selecting a field containing 6-digit records BUT do not want to select records that contain a "1" in the 5th field, such as "999412". Is there a quick way to do this?

I was thinking of a first query to select all of the 6 digit records, then a second query to select the last 2 digits, and then a 3rd query not like 1*

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

This is a text type field?

    Mid(fieldname, 5, 1) <> 1
