Where is the best place to post a questio

Where is the best place (best forum) regarding upgrading from Access 2003 to Access 2019? If it's here, then my question is: Will data, queries, forms, control and reports be imported with all previous functionality retained? If not, where can I find a description of what will need to be done to restore any lost functionality?

Mostly but it depends on which features you used.
For example, user level security was dropped in the conversion to ACCDB in A2007. Similarly replication is no longer available

Your references will mostly be updated without issue though if you used the old calendar control that has been scrapped.

If you install Access for Office 365, the default is now 64-bit.
I would recommend you ensure you install 32-bit Office as otherwise API calls will need to be converted.

Other than that, the rest will almost certainly convert without issue but make sure you keep a backup of the original version just in case

There are few forums that specialise in Access like this one. Many regular responders are members of more than one forum so it doesn't make much difference which one you use. If you do decide to post to more than one forum (it's called cross posting), the common courtesy is to advise in each post that that is what you are doing and provide a link to the other posts. This way responders have a chance to see what else has been suggested and not waste their time repeating what someone else has already suggested. Posters who ignore this courtesy will find in time that they, in turn, are ignored.

So to answer your question - In principle yes, previous functionality will be retained. But there are some provisos

code that references the old 2003 menubars will need to be rewritten to use the ribbon instead. Also mdw security will be gone as well as replication. See this link for the good, the bad and the ugly - http://allenbrowne.com/Access2007.html. Its for 2007 but the same principles will apply.

Also if 2019 is the 64bit version, any API calls will need to be updated. See this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/off...ions-of-office

In my experience (around 200 mdb's), upgrading for 2003 to 2010 was completely painless - just open the .mdb file and you are prompted to upgrade. Do the upgrade and a new .accdb is created, the original .mdb remains unchanged, although I do put a copy in an 'upgraded vault' folder for posterity before upgrading as a matter of course.

.accdb's do require to be 'trusted' which you do for individual files by clicking on the 'enable macro's' button when first opening or by putting in a trusted location which you do via file>options>trusted locations. Note only the FE needs to be trusted, the BE does not.
