Applying a search filter to a form lookup combobox

    Hi all,

I'm quite a novice at Access and I need some help.

I've created a simple employee database in Acces.
The details of the employee are filled in a table.
I've created a form in which an employee card can be displayed.
I can add notes for each employee using the subform. The notes are stored in a separate table.
The employee card can be selected using the combobox on top.An example of the form is shown below. I've blurred some sections, because it contains private info.

Now I want to be able to filter the names in the combobox based on a value from the table using a second combobox.
For example. I want the combobox to only show the names of the employees who work in a certain department.
The department is defined in the table. How do I create the second combobox in which I can define the search filter for the first combobox?
Hope to hear from you all
    Thanks!

what you want is typically referred to as cascading combos. TONS of examples and info if you search here or elsewhere using that term.
