Hello All,
I am a competitive target shooter and very detailed about my load development and records.
I have a DB program I use for keeping track of my load development and printing targets with the load data on them. I wrote the DB in Lotus Approach years ago, I know Approach very well, it is so simple. Access is NOT!
A friend liked what I am using and a few others have asked me for a copy of the DB, but very few people have Lotus Approach. So I decided to duplicate it in MS Access. That is a bigger undertaking than I expected.
The goal is to have a form to enter all the load data into the fields of a record, then print a target from that record. Also a report from a group of records.
So far I have the fields created and forms created to print the targets with the load data on them, a data entry form, and a report format created. I attached PDF's for the Target Forms and Report printout.
Each record has approx. 40 fields.
Once the data is entered, I want to open one of the target tabs and print the target with the information for an individual record. Can’t seem to get it to print a record I choose?
Then once I have entered the data for a few different loads, after printing each target, print a report for making notes at the range that will be later entered into that individual record.
Sometimes, the report will consist of 8-10 records for that trip to the range, but need to be able to select certain records for the report by an individual field.
I believe this is done with a Query, but for the life of me, I can’t figure it out (just a dumb Redneck).
Also, there is a field for “Smallest Group”, “Largest Group” and “Avg Group.”
A: Can’t get the fields to display decimal points to 3 places.
B: The Avg Group field formula is ([Smallest Group]+[Largest Group])/2. This should return the correct average, but can’t get it to display decimal to 3 places.
I would like to find someone that can either fix this or guide me in the right direction.
The file is only 928 KB, so it can easily be sent to someone.
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
