    Report with multiple groupings

    Hello all,

I am new to Access. I would like to create a report with the followinggroupings/calculations:

    1. Total of attorneys with 0-5 years experience that answered"Yes" to question 1.

    2. Total of attorneyswith 0-5 years experience that answered “No” to question 1.
    3. Total of attorneys with 5-10 years experiencethat answered "Yes" to question 1.
    4. Total of attorneyswith 5-10 years experience that answered “No” to question 1.
Same thing for question 2, 3….
I have simplified the requirements since I think if I canget it for 2 questions, I can understand it for all.
What would be the most efficient way to go about this? Should I use multiple queries in the report?I have not created an Access report in over 15 years.

Create a field in query with calculation that assigns a group identifier for the years experience for each attorney. Use that field in report grouping design.

So what is hierarchy of grouping?

    Question 1
    ..ExperienceA
    ….AnswerYes count
    ….AnswerNo count
    ..ExperienceB
    ….AnswerYes count
    ….AnswerNo count

    Question 2
    ..ExperienceA
    ….AnswerYes count
    ….AnswerNo count
    ..ExperienceB
    ….AnswerYes count
    ….AnswerNo count

    etc.

What part is not clear? How to calculate group identifier for the time periods? Or how to do grouping in report?

Suggest you study some tutorials on report Sorting & Grouping.
