Hello,
I have a field to enter new or previous AFR Numbers in a field on my form AFRs (work order). Is there a way to prevent duplicate entries? Does this have to be at the form or table level?
Thank you

Here's a technique using composite unique index if needed.
Thank you I indexed and selected no duplicates at table level.
I have an issue now not being able to search previous AFR Numbers on my form. I was using Ctrl+F but it isn't finding previous numbers.
I don't use Ctrl F so can not comment directly on that. I do not see how indexing a field would impact Ctrl F functionality.
I found this via google - it may shed some light on things.
I attached the file please can you take a look?
I tested using 32-bit Access 2010. Ctrl+F dialog appears for me whether I click in the AFR textbox or anywhere else in the form
However its not a user friendly method of searching for existing values
Suggest using a combo with the AFR values as its row source and a Search button alongside to move to/filter for the required record
