    How to get percentage difference in two summed fields

    So I have a report that I am trying to create a field to show percentage difference.

    In my report it lists offices and their totals $ for the year (2 columns 2019 and 2018)

    In the report footer I am using a formula to sum each of these to give grand totals
    Sumof2019 ($7017,425.12) and Sumof2018 ($8,059469.54)

    I am trying to figure out how to add a percentage difference field.

    I tried this...

    =Sum([SumOf2019 Gift Amount])/Sum([SumOf2018 Gift Amount])

    But it gives me the percentage 84% which is I guess how close 2019 is to 2018 but I am trying to get the percentage difference which should be that we are down 14%

    Any ideas?

    Nicol

    The formula would be:

    (2019-2018)/2018

    Thank you if I simply do the (2019-2018) I get the $ amount difference total but when I add in the /2018 I don't seem to get a percentage? I have the field set up as a percent.

    Here is the formula

    =Sum([SumOf2019 Gift Amount])-Sum([SumOf2018 Gift Amount])/Sum([SumOf2018 Gift Amount])

    Here are the numbers

    Sumof2019 = ($7017,425.12) and Sumof2018= ($8,059469.54) the difference is $1,042044.42 and should be 14.84%

    When I use the formula above it gives me

    No image attached, but you need to add parentheses so the subtraction is done first.
