Yes the way its curently set up is that the ID's are autonumbers but seem to be arbitary. But the Id's couldn't match the Id's in table 1 because there should be more items in table 1 than table 2, or have I just misunderstood you?

Do you allow special keys?
I dont know, how do I do it?
Good luck with it Gen. You're in good hands with Ruralguy .
I think I cluttered this thread up too much. Better always to get advice from just one person to keep the confusion to a minimum. If you need clarity on any of the info I gave, send me a message.
Ok thanks ajetrumpet, i'll send you a message if i need more help, but i'm still baffled here.
Ok I enable special keys, pressed ctrl G and the imeediate window is empty.

So the query is *not* running then, right? How are you attempting ro run the query?
Here's the query:
When you switch this query to Datasheet mode are you getting any records returned? As Adam was explaining, without a join of the two tables you will probably get a cartesian product of the two tables.
I am getting some records and the only field missing, is price.
Also by the way their are 2 records in table 1, but any query i make returns each record twice do you know why this is?
The long answer is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartesian_product
The short answer is All of the records from the second table for each record of the first. In otherwords, all possible combinations.
You have also named two fields in your query [Price]. Not a good practice.
This appears to be just a test db so how about posting the db so we can play with it?
