Refresh Database if Connection to File Location is Interrupted

    Hello,

I have a database on a shared drive. While the database is open it will randomly lose connection to the drive and basically the entire database becomes useless... It can't find tables that exist and therefore won't pull the data stored in those tables.
Recently I've been getting a File not Found error. The other annoying bit is that the connection from the computer to the shared drive is still intact. I can still get to the folder where the database is located and just closing the database and reopening works fine, just the lost of data and time is frustrating.

I'm hoping I can add a statement of On Error: Refresh Database, since theoretically the computer still has access to that location, its just the database had a lapse.

As an add, I don't have admin privileges over the shared drive, so I cannot fix whatever is causing the connection loss.

    Thanks!

Losing connection over a normal file share seems rare.
did you try the linked table manager, Relink all tables?
or manually remove and link all.

There are no linked tables... its just a file on a network drive. But it loses connection to the drive. It can happen within 5 minutes of opening the file or if I leave it open after awhile, it'll lose the connection.

Your database should be run from a local drive to avoid this sort of problem
