This is an expansion to a previous thread titled "Unwanted prompt to backup database".
To summarize that thread, a multi-user application throws up a dialog to back up the database at a certain point, after which Access closes the application and itself. And before you suggest this, it was built and is used as a split application with the front-end installed locally on each workstation.
Further troubleshooting of this issue has revealed the following:
- the issue only occurs on one machine: other users on other machines do not experience this problem.
- it's machine-related, not user-related, as the normal user of the machine that crashes can log in to a different machine and run the application without error.
- the error occurs at the third line of this code snippet:
DoCmd.OpenReport "Data File Statistics", acViewNormal
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "Data File Statistics", acFormatRTF, ReportStr
DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "Data File Statistics", acFormatRTF, EmailTo, EmailCC, , SubjectStr, "See Attached for Details"
Which prints the report named "Data File Statistics", saves a copy of the report in RTF format to a specific location, and then emails that RTF report as an attachment to the specified recipients.
It appears the error occurs when opening the email window so the user can send off the message. Any ideas about what to look at for the cause of this problem? Our IT Vendor is at a loss as well...
Thanks, Steve
