Question Duplicate Excel OLE DB QUERY in Access

    Hi,

I have an Excel file that contains an OLE DB QUERY as an external DATA Connection. I would like to manipulate the data coming from that connection and join them to other Data that I have in an Access Database.

How (if possible) can I simply copy the connection to add it as as linked table in Access so that I can make Queries with all the tables afterward?

I am new to Access. I have some experience with Microsoft SQL Server but I am very poor at setting up connections.

    Thanks,

    Frederic

Link the external XL file as a table,
then make a query to join the tables.

If I do it this way, Will I need to refresh the Data in the XL to have the refreshed Data in my Access Table?

    Hi Ranman,

It does not work, I have to open my Excel File, Refresh the Data, only then the Access Database gets updated. Plus it is very slow as Excel pulls out all the Data from the connection. I'd like to duplicate the connection to query it from Access with some conditions that would reduce the processing time. Any input?
    Thanks for you help

What is the source of the data? SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle? https://www.connectionstrings.com/
