    Microsoft Access 2.0 Database User and Group Permission Error

    Hello Everyone,



    I have MS Acces 2.0 Database and I want to convert this file for work on Office 2007. But when I try to convert this database I have error "You dont have read and write permission".

    I know, problem about User and Group permission. I was tried everything in last one week.

    I'm found Remove Access Security 2.0 software but Its need register and they no have website.

    How Can I fix this problem ?

    This sounds like an Active Dirctory error. Have you looked at User Permissions on the server (domain controler)? The name you use to log into Windows should have full permisions to the folder share.

    I'm not using this file in Server. I'm using on Windows XP.

    Then the mdb file is using Access' built in security. You will have to login to the database using top level access and remove the security features before trying to upgrade.

    I cant, Because I don't know who is Top level access in this database.

    It has been about 10 years since I have played around with this feature. Newer versions do not have this feature. I recommend removing it entirely. I believe you can access it with an Admin level and then make yourself the owner. I believe you need to be Owner before removing the security feature. Go to tools>Security Settings>Users and Permissions.

    I suppose there is a way you could hack the system. Don't know how or care to take the time to figure it out. Another approach may be to import the objects from another (blank) DB. Maybe you can "Drag" the objects over to the new DB.
