migrating mdb 2007 access to a new computer

i thought it ould just be a matter of save-as.......on the old computer

......then open access 2007 on the windows 10 (new) computer, choose open

but I get a permissions error.

    or I try....
open new database, then use then menu to open access database

is there a straightforward to migrate a database to a new computer? or perhaps a program to use??

Is this a split database? Are you opening file from a server? Do you have IT staff who can help you? What is the exact error message?

File New database will not help open an existing file.

thank you, it was written as an access database to store customer details. no it is not split. it just runs on a single PC.

the error is you do not have permissions to open this file.....then it just goes on to name the file C:/thenameoffile.mdb

i tried opening security permissions and adding "everyone" or the user.....it was the same permissions as on the old PC.

Are you using workgroup security on the file on the old computer? Look for .mdw file associated with this database.
If so, you'll need to work with that or remove it.

Alternatively, try converting the file to ACCDB.
