Tables / Querys to populate forms Questions

    Hello everyone and happy thanksgiving!
I have a very simple direct edit db that I have started as I am trying to learn access. I am also taking some courses at the moment, however, I would really like to figure this db out that I am currently working on. Its really simple but not sure how it all flows.

So, I have two tables, Tbl_State and Tbl_City with corresponding forms. Table State is rather simple, StateID, State, StateName, and few other fields. I will attach the db here. Now, I tried a query to populate the Frm_City but it doesn't populate and wont let me add anything. What I dont understand is without creating look ups how I get the StateID in the Tbl_City from a form and then I have some follow up questions on how I create the DupChk check box to work with checking for duplicates and not allowing them. I figured I could do this with a Query, but I cant even get it to populate.

This should be simple but I am just lost!

    Thanks

Have a look at this. It's a form/subform setup. The main form is for state and the subform is for city.
Very basic and needs dressing up for a party.

Thank you, It wasn't exactly the method I wanted but was good. I ended up creating the combo box in wizard and that fixed that issue. Does anyone have any idea on how to create the navigation buttons like Microsoft has at the bottom. |<< < 1 of 2343 > >>| style? I am sure someone has all ready done this and has a simple solution maybe?
