    Importing from Access 2

I'm working on getting my Access 2 db into 2016. I have 2000, It successfully imported my tables, queries and macros, which I can then get into 2016, but it won't import any of my forms and reports. I've tried the conversion thing, but that won't work at all. If I could get the forms and reports in, even if they're broken, it would make my job a lot easier. Any ideas?

I'm very much an amateur, but I put this together for my business in 95, and it's served me well since then.

    Cheers

This article https://support.office.com/en-us/art...1-65d06bb12aa7 says should be able to import them into 2000. But then appear to need 2007 to do intermediate conversion.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Cheers. Yes I've tried that route. The 2000 conversion attempt results in: "Microsoft Access failed to convert or enable your code modules" and "Your computer may be low on disk space or memory" (It's not)

The forum software moderated your post (because it contained a link and you're new), meaning nobody but a moderator could see it. When I approved it other members could see it but wouldn't have been notified that you had replied. I post so they get that notification.

Yes, daughter said it scared the kids but no damage done. Whew!

Have you tried to just convert it using Access 2000?

I never had to even try, but can you export forms, reports, code modules to bas files then import into the new db? https://access-programmers.co.uk/for...d.php?t=175459

Have you tried opening a new database in 2000 and importing all objects to that?
Then repeat from 2000 to a new database in 2007 and again from 2007 into 2016?

If all else fails, I have every version of Access from Access 2.0 onwards on a VM.
If you can zip and upload it, I will try and convert for you.

Cheers. I'm successfully doing that with tables, queries and macros, got them all up and running in 2016, by importing to 2000, then importing to 2016. If I try to import any or all reports or forms into 2000 I get "Microsoft Access failed to convert or enable your code modules"

I appreciate your offer. How do I get the 808kb zip file uploaded?

All done. Hopefully the attached is what you wanted

2 things slowed me down a bit:
    1. Not having any of the linked tables
    2. Not having a default printer on my VM with Access 2000 - I had to fake a printer to open the file!

These are the steps I did using various versions of Access:
    1. I opened it in Access 2 so I knew that was the file format
    2. Reopened in A2000 and converted the format
    3. Reopened in A2010 and converted to ACCDB - removed the utility.mda reference which doesn't exist in ACCDB files
    4. Reopened in A2016 so the references updated - otherwise should be identical to 2010 version

Due to not having all the linked tables, I can't really check its OK. I need to leave that to you

I'm attaching all 3 converted versions in case you have problems with any of them
Let me know whether it seems OK & I'll then delete all files from my PC
