    not much to go on to provide a detailed answer.

    use the docmd.openform command and complete the criteria parameter which specifies the record you want

    if you mean a record key id
    enter the ID# into a box ,
    then pressing enter activates the event:

    Code:
    sub txtFind_Afterupdate()
    If IsNull(txtFind) Then
       Me.FilterOn = False
    Else
       Me.Filter = "[ID#] =" & me.txtFind
       Me.FilterOn = True
    End If
    end sub

    Ajax, that was what I was attempting to do but I don't know enough to create proper syntax.

    DoCmd.OpenForm FrmFTLoop, acNormal, , ?????

    Search for FT-0008A Record in Field FldFTLoopTag on Form FrmFTLoop

    pbaldy that helped. Besides entering into a TextBox to specify the desired record and then Click associated Button is it possible to "preset" the desired Record and just Click a button?

    Sure:

    Numeric: "FieldName = 123"
    Text: "FieldName = 'abc'"
