    Network Connection Interruted

I am running an Access database which is stored on my desktop PC. I also run it from my laptop via my home network. Now everytime I try to open it on my laptop I get the message "Your Network access was interrupted. To continue, close the database and open it again". I cannot close the database as it does not appear to be open. I have closed Access completely but that does solve the problem.

    Update
I have been encountering this problem for a week or more and no amount of opening and closing Access resolved the problem. Suddenly this morning it has resolved itself and I can now run the database form my laptop again.

Would still appreciate advise on any action I can take if it happens again.

If you are using a wireless network or this is over a WAN it will be about a reliable as a chocolate teapot.
Access does not tolerate dropped packets in data very well, if at all, and as such you really need to be on the same network, preferably hardwired to get decent performance.

The crash may have corrupted the database - so reload a recent backup and try that.

    Hi Minty

Thanks for that but see my update on the post - as if by miracle I can run it again from my laptop.

    Glad you have it working.
The only advice I can give is always keep a working backup copy somewhere other than your PC or Laptop.
