    Employee Schedule (ACCESS NOOB)

    Hello,

I am a total Access novice so please be patient with me.

I have searched for an example template of what I need but found nothing. More than anything, can someone please confirm the following is possible in ACCESS 2016 before I begin learning it?

-Employee database detailing each employee's 4 week rolling shift pattern.
-With the ability to select a date showing which employees are on shift and assign them to a work area.

    Things to note:
    24 hour department
    70+ employees
    many different shift patterns
ability to print a final staffing roster

Essentially it will work as a staff roster that is dependent on staff shifts.

Please let me know if access can do this and any further help is much appreciated.

    Regards

    Kenny Robinson

Access can certainly hold the data. Most anything can be done with enough code. I expect your app will need a lot. The features you describe will be a challenge for even an experienced programmer. Whether you use VBA or some other programming language is up to you.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
