Keep subform from re-running query when exporting?

I have a form with the functionality of running queries and exporting them. When I have a query loaded into the subform and choose to export, it then re-runs the query. I haven't found an answer with google yet so I finally decided to ask here. How can I keep the export option from re-running the query when exporting?

Since nobody has answered, I'll venture that you can't. I could be wrong, but I think the export process would need to run the query to export it.
