Linked table to Excel - how to change field names from F1, F2, etc.

I want to link to my Excel file. I do not have control over the Excel file so I cannot add the field names to the first row in Excel. Is there a way I can change and save the field names in the linked table?

    Thanks.

No. The field names are defined by the link.

If it really matters what you see in the dataset, build a query that assigns alias names.

Or move the data to a table, which is what some suggest, to be more certain that the data is coerced to the correct type.
