Report won't open on OnClick from Search Form

I'm having trouble getting my report to open from my search form. As long as I have the report design view tab open, when I submit my search via my search form the report pops up with accurate results, but when I first open my Db and double click to pop up my search form, without having the report design tab open, it returns no results. I'm sure this is something stupid that I'm just not aware of or haven't thought of.... just looking to get this bug worked out so the search form can be put to use by other users with minimal direction.

    Thanks!!

does the report reference the form?
what is the where clause in the report query?
    does the query execute correctly?
